Those measures are important. Only 22.7% said it was well controlled. Another 18.2% described it as poorly controlled, and 4.5% said it was not controlled at all.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That distribution is important.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It suggests that most patients are not saying nothing works. They are saying control is incomplete. Migraine care may be reducing some burden, but not enough to restore confidence in daily life.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is where the word \u201ccontrol\u201d becomes complicated. A patient may have fewer attacks, but still feel uncertain, cautious, or unable to return fully to normal routines. Migraine control should therefore include more than attack count. Half of respondents said they often still feel migraine\u2019s impact when not having a migraine. Another 27.3% said this happens occasionally, and 4.5% said very often.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This means that for many people, migraine does not switch off cleanly.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When asked how close they feel to their normal self between episodes, only 31.8% said completely normal. Another 36.4% said mostly normal with minor issues, while 31.8% said noticeably affected.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That is a major insight: almost seven in ten did not describe themselves as completely normal between migraine episodes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The burden is not only pain. Sensitivity to light or sound followed at 18.2%. Brain fog, anxiety about the next migraine, and reduced productivity were each selected by 13.6%.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This pattern changes the story.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Migraine control is often discussed through medication response or frequency. But patients may judge control by whether they have energy, focus, sensory comfort, and confidence after the attack ends.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Open-ended responses reinforced this pattern. Patients described brain fog, fatigue, worry, reduced productivity, carrying rescue medication, avoiding triggers, and difficulty planning. One short response captured the broader reality: \u201cAlways planning for the next one.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That is not simply a symptom. It is a way of living around uncertainty.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Unpredictability Is the Least Controlled Part<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The strongest unresolved issue was not frequency or severity. It was unpredictability.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the survey data, 45.5% selected unpredictability as the least controlled aspect of their migraine. Another 31.8% think about it occasionally.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This anticipation affects behavior. About 18.2% said it significantly affects daily decisions, while 40.9% said it moderately affects decisions. In the survey data, 45.5% said their current treatment approach is moderately effective at helping them feel normal between attacks. Only 13.6% said it is very effective. Another 9.1% said it is slightly effective, 13.6% said it is not effective, and 18.2% were not using treatment aimed at preventing or controlling migraine.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This suggests that the between-attack experience may be under-addressed.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Preventive strategies are often assessed by attack reduction.
