Check Adherence Before Changing Therapy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

An elevated IOP does not explain why pressure is elevated.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The medicine may be insufficient, or disease may be progressing. But doses may also be missed; refills delayed, or drops used inconsistently.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That means adherence should remain part of the differential when pressure control does not match the prescribed <\/span>glaucoma medical treatment<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among surveyed ophthalmologists, 36.8% identified ocular surface disease; including burning, hyperemia, or chronic discomfort as the leading single driver of long-term non-adherence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A <\/span>glaucoma medication<\/span><\/b> may lower IOP effectively in principle yet become difficult to sustain if <\/span>glaucoma eye drops<\/span><\/b> cause persistent irritation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
